Duarte Residents Express Their Civic Pride
Besides disagreeing wholeheartedly with Mr. Desens’ letter, we believe this newspaper committed a great transgression by negatively headlining the letter and validating it with the photograph of City Hall. As a neutral and unbiased newspaper, we question your decision to sensationalize one person’s viewpoint.
We became Duarte homeowners in 1973. We raised our family, worked and shopped here. We watched this city grow and prosper and we saw Duarte’s image favorably change.
We noted that our elected officials as well as city staff were accessible to the public and sought input (both negative and positive) from the residents. We feel that this city has experienced the best in committed and responsible leadership.
We personally, in over 18 years, have not been disappointed in our city or its leaders.
