LIVE Entertainment Inc., a Van Nuys-based supplier and retailer of home videos and other entertainment products, has named Ivan Lipton president of its 140-store Specialty Retail Group, which operates the Strawberries and Waxie Maxie music retail chains.

Lipton replaces Melvin Wilmore, who resigned to accept a position as chief operating officer of Ross Stores, a San Francisco-based retailer. Lipton has been with Strawberries for more than 11 years, most recently as its executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.
