New Call Boxes Being Installed on Freeway
Los Angeles County Transportation Commission crews are installing new emergency call boxes on the San Diego Freeway (405) from National Boulevard in West Los Angeles to the Orange County line.
Construction workers and equipment are working on the freeway’s right shoulder from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., one day northbound and the next day southbound. No lane closures are required. The work is expected to last through Jan. 14.
Approximately 50 call boxes are being installed each week. Each old call box is removed only after its replacement is in operation, supervisors said. No service disruptions are anticipated.
