College Basketball
From Staff and Wire Reports
Duke remained the overwhelming choice for No. 1 and the top 12 teams were unchanged from a week ago in the Associated Press weekly college basketball poll.
Newcomers to the poll included Syracuse, ranked 23rd, and USC, 25th.
Duke (5-0), which didn’t play last week, captured every first-place vote except one, which went to Connecticut. The Blue Devils were atop 63 ballots and received 1,599 points, 90 more than runner-up UCLA (7-0).
Oklahoma State (10-0) was third and was followed by Kansas, Connecticut, Arizona, Ohio State, North Carolina, Michigan State and Indiana.
