Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Cuba Seeks Return of Defector Copter

Cuba wants to reclaim a stolen helicopter that 34 people used to defect to the United States, Ariel Ricardo, the Cuban government spokesman in Washington, told authorities in Miami. The helicopter from Cubana Aviation, the national airline of Cuba, took off from Varadero, Cuba, on Friday and landed a few miles away at a field where its crew picked up 31 waiting family members. They took off for Florida, flying as low as possible to evade Cuban radar, and landed in Miami.
