Day for Recognition
Tom Shales of The Washington Post (TV Times, Dec. 22) expressed many people’s sentiments, including mine, about Doris Day. During the past several years I had hoped that the American Film Institute would consider her for its Life Achievement Award. Because she lives a low-key life, we should not forget the body of her work that brought us so much joyous entertainment. She was a great actress and obviously she still is a lovely woman.
