FILLMORE : Youth, 17, Arrested After Man Stabbed
A 17-year-old Santa Paula youth was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a Fillmore man during a fight at a party in a Fillmore motel room, authorities said Saturday.
Benjamin Cortez, 19, was taken to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital with a punctured lung and broken rib after the stabbing about 11:20 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
Hospital officials Saturday said Cortez is in serious but stable condition.
The 17-year-old was arrested at 6 a.m. Saturday and is being held at County Juvenile Hall, authorities said.
