Long Beach : Committee’s New Focus: Review Queen Mary Area
A citizens committee originally formed to review the now-abandoned DisneySea project will continue to study uses for the Queen Mary area.
The Long Beach City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to change the name and focus, but not the members, of the Port Disney Citizen Advisory Committee to the Queen Mary Area Development Advisory Committee.
The 55 committee members were originally appointed to provide information, advice and recommendations to the council on the proposed Disney project, which was scuttled late last year. Under its new mandate, the committee will study future development proposals for the area.
