Loyola Women Lose to San Francisco
The University of San Francisco women’s basketball team defeated Loyola Marymount, 63-42, Saturday night at Gersten Pavilion.
San Francisco (11-6 overall, 3-1 in West Coast Conference play) trailed, 7-6, with 15 minutes 33 seconds left in the first half, then went on an 8-0 run in the next 1:30 for a 14-7 lead. The Lions (6-11, 0-4) could never recover and trailed, 35-23, at halftime.
Joy Boyenga scored 19 points for San Francisco, which shot 63.6% from three-point range.
Freshman Tanya White had 14 points and six rebounds and freshman Miki Graf had 10 points and three rebounds for Loyola.
The Lions play at San Francisco on Friday at 5:20 p.m. On Saturday, Loyola will play at St. Mary’s.
