Point Loma Nazarene held off host Biola, 71-70, in a District 3 game. PLNC led 71-67 with one minute, 40 seconds left, but did not score again. Camille Armijo led the Crusaders (12-6, 6-2) with 25 points, Rochelle Lightner added 15 and Stacee Eggers added 12.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Point Loma Nazarene shot only 40% from the field and lost to host Westmont, 83-60, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game. Donnie Buettner led PLNC (10-9, 2-2) with 17 points, Sean Giles added 13. Westmont, which led 46-25 at halftime, improved to 13-7, 2-2.

MEN’S TENNIS

Jose Luis Noriega of USD was upset by Brian MacPhie of USC, 6-3, 6-4, in a semifinal singles match of the Adidas Invitational Tennis Championships at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells.

Noriega is ranked seventh on the Volvo Tennis/Collegiate Rankings, MacPhie 11th.
