Minister to Face Sex Charge in S.D.
A minister already accused of a series of sex crimes in a Chicago suburb was charged with sexually assaulting a teen-age boy in San Diego, authorities said.
The Rev. Lloyd Ray Davis, 57, was charged late last week in San Diego Municipal Court with five felony sex crimes involving a minor, prosecutors said Monday.
The crimes allegedly occurred in 1989 on church property in the San Diego area. Davis leads the Waukegan, Ill.-based Christian Fellowship Inc. and claims followers in several U.S. cities and foreign countries.
The boy allegedly was a member of the church’s affiliate in Tijuana and was taken by a church member to meet Davis in San Diego, officials said.
