SAN CLEMENTE — More than 3,000 people were without power for about an hour Thursday night after a car struck a power pole, ripping down electrical lines, authorities said.
The car slammed into a pole at Avenida Pico and Calle de los Molinos about 5:50 p.m., according to a spokesman with San Diego Gas & Electric Co. The driver, whose name was not available, was not injured, according to Jane Heller, a dispatcher with the San Clemente Police Department.
