* NWA Inc., Northwest’s parent company, posted a fourth-quarter loss of $164.3 million, down from a $211.8-million loss in the previous fourth quarter.
For the year, NWA lost $317 million, compared to a $301.2-million loss in 1990.
The company was not going to release revenue for NWA, a spokeswoman said. No per-share earnings are reported because NWA is privately held.
NWA’s fourth-quarter results were hurt by foreign exchange translation adjustments of $34 million and also reflected $10 million in non-recurring writedowns of assets, the company said.
