For Tax Dodging Hints, Join the Bush League
It’s no wonder that state governments are going bankrupt. With George Bush as our role model, all of us can cleverly avoid our responsibility to pay state income taxes, “Bush Pays Few State Taxes, Magazine Says” (Dec. 28).
Citizen Bush annually avoids a $30,000 state tax responsibility by claiming residency in Texas (which has no personal income tax) instead of Washington or Maine, where he actually lives most of the year.
What is the basis for his Texas residency? He spends several days each year in a Houston hotel suite. Sadly, his “thousand points of light” is now just 999.
