Compton Centennial 50, Western 46--Western’s fourth-quarter rally fell short at Compton College.

Centennial held a 39-21 lead going into the fourth quarter, but Western (18-8) rallied after Centennial forward Will Weir fouled out with 5:29 remaining to play. The Pioneers twice cut the deficit to three points, the last time 47-44 with 52 seconds left.

Weir scored nine points in the third quarter as Centennial outscored Western, 23-12. Guard Chris Jackson paced Western with 17 points. Centennial (20-8) advanced to the semifinals Tuesday against top-seeded Estancia (22-6).
