Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Ex-Friend Will Take Stand in Gotti Trial
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Salvatore (Sammy the Bull) Gravano will testify for the prosecution in the federal trial of his former close friend, John Gotti, reputed boss of the most powerful crime family. Gotti is charged with directing the 1985 killings of Paul Castellano and his bodyguard so he could replace Castellano. The men were shot outside a steakhouse in Manhattan, and Gravano is expected to say he and Gotti watched from a parked car.
