Micro Technology Inc.: The computer products manufacturer has completed its $18-million acquisition of a Sunnyvale computer company.
SF2 Corp. makes “fault-tolerant” computer storage equipment that is used to prevent accidental loss of computer data. The company employs 50 people in Sunnyvale.
Steve Hamerslag, chief executive of Micro Technology, said sales of the SF2 systems, which sell for about $400,000 each, could supply the larger share of Micro Technology’s revenue in the future. SF2 will begin shipping its new computer this month.
Micro Technology, which has 350 employees in Anaheim, said SF2 will be operated as an independent subsidiary based in Sunnyvale.
