Metoyer, the point guard for the Jackrabbits, scored 36 points in two CIF Southern Section Division I-AA playoff games. He scored 21 points as Poly defeated Victor Valley, 68-54, and scored 15 points in a 56-47 upset of Moore League opponent Wilson High of Long Beach.

* Charles O’Bannon, a forward for Artesia High in Lakewood, tallied 47 points as he led the Pioneers to a couple of CIF Southern Section Division II-AA basketball playoff victories. O’Bannon scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Artesia defeated Norte Vista, 70-52, then scored a personal playoff high of 26 points and added 13 rebounds as the Pioneers crushed Claremont, 74-43.

* Michael O’Quinn, junior forward for Pius X High of Downey, scored a game high 25 points to lead the Warriors to a 62-49 victory over Laguna Beach in the CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA basketball playoffs.
