The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between March 2 and March 8:
Glendale
San Fernando Road, 3700 block--Police responding to an alarm at a motorcycle dealership on March 2 arrested a man on suspicion of burglary. The suspect was discovered hiding at the location. Leather jackets and clothing, valued at $3,348.85, were piled up near a broken window.
East Colorado Street, 1100 block--An undercover police officer arrested a woman on suspicion of prostitution March 4 inside a motel room after she allegedly agreed to have sex in exchange for cocaine.
San Fernando Road, 4400 block--A public telephone, valued at $3,500, was stolen from a wall on March 4 or 5.
Pioneer Drive, 300 block--A car was stolen at gunpoint from a woman as she pulled into her apartment garage on March 6 at 3:55 p.m.
Verdugo Boulevard, 2100 block--A gas station was robbed at gunpoint of about $90 March 7 at 2:45 a.m. Police later arrested a suspect riding a motorcycle south on the Glendale Freeway (2).
Honolulu Avenue, 2200 block--A sporting goods store was burglarized on March 7 or 8, and eight catcher’s mitts, 60 baseball caps, six pairs of shoes, four bats and clothing were stolen. The value of the items was not disclosed.
Randall Street, 400 block--Two men whose car had broken down March 8 at 11:40 p.m. were chased and then attacked by about 10 males, who took the wallet of one of the victims containing $20 and a jacket valued at $160. Three suspects were arrested.
La Canada Flintridge
Angeles Crest Highway, 4800 block--A man reported that between August, 1991, and March 2, burglars stole a VCR, videotapes and a leaf blower, valued together at $730, from a home he owns.
Montrose
Eastbound Foothill Freeway (210) at Ocean View--A man who stopped to aid a motorist standing near a wrecked car and bleeding from the forehead was robbed at knifepoint of his car, valued at $6,000, by the motorist and an accomplice on March 3 at 12:15 a.m.
Eagle Rock
Colorado Boulevard, 1500 block--Thieves entered an auto shop and stole tools valued at $7,000 and industrial equipment worth $12,000 between Feb. 29 and March 2.
Neal Drive, 5300 block--A home was burglarized on March 2 between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and cameras and video equipment, valued at $2,840, were stolen.
Eagle Rock Boulevard and Avenue 45--A purse valued at $75 was snatched from a woman on March 3 at 4:35 p.m.
Alumni Avenue, 4600 block--Money and a television, valued at $11,715, were stolen from a home on March 7 or 8.
Echo Park
Echo Park Avenue, 1400 block--A woman reported that a man entered her home, forced her into a bedroom and raped her on March 1 at 7:30 a.m.
Riverside Drive and Harwood Street--A woman standing at a bus stop was robbed at gunpoint of her purse, valued at $35, on March 3 at 6:50 p.m.
North Bernard Street, 700 block--Three thieves knocked on an apartment door on March 5 at 8 p.m., stating that they had a letter for the occupant. When the victim opened the door, the thieves forced their way in at gunpoint and fled with $600 cash.
Franklin Hill
Griffith Park Boulevard, 2700 block--Thieves smashed the front door of a business and fled with property valued at $1,000 on March 4 at 12:50 a.m.
Glassell Park
Cliff Drive, 1300 block--Thieves cut away a screen door at a home, forced a window open, ransacked the premises and made off with jewelry and a stereo, valued at $5,735, on March 4 between 7:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Gassen Place, 3300 block--Jewelry, valued at $4,000, was stolen from a home on March 4 or 5.
West Avenue 35, 3000 block--Jewelry and precious metals, valued at $1,175, were stolen from an apartment on March 6 between 6 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
Highland Park
Avenue 43 and Figueroa Street--Two assailants grabbed a motorist from behind and held a knife to the victim’s throat before fleeing with money and a vehicle valued at $1,070 on March 2 at 8:30 p.m.
Marmion Way, 5400 block--A thief pushed a man to the ground, took his wallet and then shot the victim once in the wrist before escaping on March 3 at 7:25 p.m.
Figueroa Street and Avenue 54--A person was robbed at knifepoint of money and jewelry valued at $220, then stabbed on March 6 at 7 a.m. The wound was not serious.
Avenue 52 and North Figueroa Street--A robber stood in the street, forcing a car to stop on March 7 at 3:10 p.m., then entered the vehicle, held a knife to the driver’s back and ordered the victim to drive to a secluded location, where the vehicle and a wallet containing $10 were stolen.
Los Feliz
Effingham Place, 3700 block--Art objects and a stereo, valued at $7,715, were stolen from a home on March 2 or 3.
Auburn Street, 2700 block--Burglars entered a locked garage on March 4 or 5 and stole sporting goods valued at $1,200.
Mt. Washington
Future Street, 2900 block--Money and jewelry, valued at $2,345, were stolen from a home March 1 between 5 and 8 p.m.
East Avenue 45, 100 block--Burglars entered a home March 2 between 6:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. and stole a stereo and jewelry valued at $1,640.
Silver Lake
Hyperion Avenue, 2800 block--Burglars forced open the front door of a business and fled with a cash register and its contents, valued at $3,400, between March 1 and 3.
Hyperion Avenue, 2600 block--A fast-food restaurant was burglarized on March 2 at 11 p.m., and money and industrial equipment, valued at $7,375, were taken.
Glendale Boulevard, 1800 block--A thief entered a business and inquired about the cost of having his taxes done, then pulled a knife and grabbed $675 off an employee’s desk.
East Hollywood
Franklin Avenue, 4600 block--A mini-market employee was robbed at gunpoint of $130 on March 3 at 4:35 a.m.
Alexandria Avenue, 1800 block--A woman was pushed to the ground and her purse, valued at $65, was stolen from her on March 3 at 4:30 p.m.
Kingswell Avenue, 4400 block--Burglars entered an apartment and made off with money and jewelry, valued at $6,500, on March 3 between 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Fountain Avenue, 4700 block--A vehicle and wallet, valued at $8,060, were stolen at gunpoint on March 4 at 8:30 p.m. The vehicle was recovered.
Hillhurst Avenue, 2000 block--Two thieves forced a woman to the ground and took her purse, valued at $164, on March 4 at 7:25 p.m.
Hillhurst Avenue, 2100 block--Burglars used a pry tool to gain entry to a fast-food restaurant and stole $2,000 cash from an unlocked safe on March 4 or 5.
Angus and Moreno streets--Four thieves drove up to a woman on the street March 7 at 4:30 p.m., grabbed her purse, took $15 cash and returned the purse before fleeing.
