NHL ROUNDUP : Vanbiesbrouck Stops Canadiens

The New York Rangers got another solid performance in goal from John Vanbiesbrouck to beat the Montreal Canadiens, 4-1, Monday night in a game involving the NHL’s top two teams at New York.
Vanbiesbrouck made 32 saves, including 12 during the third period.
The Rangers used a balanced scoring attack, getting goals from Mark Messier, Sergei Nemchinov, John Ogrodnick and Adam Graves.
Hartford 4, Calgary 3--Zarley Zalapski scored two goals at Calgary as the Whalers handed the Flames their fourth consecutive loss.
Calgary’s Al MacInnis had the first hat trick of his career.
