Fat Fuss
Abby Mandel’s article, “No Muss, No Fuss, Almost No Fat,” (Jan. 30) was ill-named. Closer examination of the recipes revealed that the total calorie count for this “diet dinner” was an extravagant 869 calories without the crusty bread with sweet butter, the chocolate dessert, or pears with a selection of cheeses. The fat calories amounted to a whopping 394--before butter, chocolate or cheese, which would, of course, add many more. What kind of a diet would this satisfy?
