BEST AND BRIGHTEST: California Journal asked Sacramento journalists, lobbyists and legislative staffers what they thought of California legislators. The magazine even asked the lawmakers themselves. The result: Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach) ranked highest among the Orange County contingent in every category: integrity, intelligence, energy, and potential. The survey was far less charitable to Assemblyman Gil Ferguson (R-Newport Beach), who ranked near the bottom overall.
