DePaul basketball players received $100,000 in perks from a former bank executive and team booster, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The paper said that Jeffrey Tassani, serving 2 1/2 years in prison for bank fraud unrelated to DePaul’s activities, provided recruits summer jobs, arranged for players to have free meals and used his firm’s money on the team’s behalf.
