Ford Extends Rebates: Ford Motor Co. extended cash rebates of $400 to $2,000 on selected 1991 and 1992 models until the end of June, hoping to give a boost to lagging auto sales. Ford, the nation’s second-largest auto maker, said it will trim some rebates under the new program but most models will carry the same discounts as before. Cash rebates on the 1992 Taurus, for instance, will remain at $500 in most regions and up to $1,000 in California. Rebates for the Thunderbird and Cougar will be cut to $500 from $750, except for certain models in California, which will carry rebates of up to $1,500. Ford’s rebates were due to expire today.
