IRVINE : Sheriff Seeks Help Identifying Woman
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies asked for help Monday in identifying a woman found dead last week in an orange grove east of Irvine.
Farmhands found the fully clothed body of the woman, who is believed to be between 18 and 24 years old, about 3:45 p.m. Thursday as they were inspecting an orange grove east of Trabuco Road between Jeffrey Road and Sand Canyon Avenue.
The woman, who authorities said may have been dead for a week, was apparently killed by a powerful blow to the head, said Lt. Robert Rivas. She is described as 5-foot-5 and 110 pounds, wearing a white short-sleeve T-shirt, blue floral-print baggy pants with a drawstring and a pair of navy-blue shorts.
A deputy coroner said that based on the woman’s facial features, the body is not that of Denise Huber, a 23-year-old Newport Beach woman who has been missing since June, 1991.
Sheriff’s officials asked anyone with information about the woman to call the Orange County Coroner’s Office at (714) 647-7400.
