WOODLAND HILLS : Police Identify Gunshot Victim
Police have identified the man whose body was found in Woodland Hills but said Monday they have few leads in his fatal shooting.
Hernan Guillermo Hinestrosa, 31, of Los Angeles was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds about 8:45 a.m. Sunday by a woman walking her dog near Mulholland Drive and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Detective Rick Swanston said. Swanston said investigators believe Hinestrosa was killed nearly seven hours earlier because residents of the area said they heard gunshots about 2 a.m., although they did not report the sound to police at the time.
Hinestrosa’s girlfriend told detectives she thought he was going to a bar when he left their home alone about 1 a.m., Swanston said.
Police have yet to establish a motive but believe robbery was unlikely, Swanston said.
