ROUNDUP : El Dorado Beats Ocean View With Three Runs in Seventh

El Dorado, which trailed by four runs after one inning, rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh for a 7-6 victory over Ocean View Thursday at Fullerton College in the fifth-place game of the Upper Desk tournament.

John Street, who was three for four, opened the seventh with a single for El Dorado (12-5), ranked fifth in Orange County. Eric Ayala, running for Street, stole second, and Jim Beck walked. Aaron Tom sacrificed the runners to second and third, and Chris Remala’s hit scored Ayala. Graham Clemons grounded out, scoring Beck, and Chad Peters followed with a hit to score Remala with the winning run.

Clemons (3-1) pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the victory. Seventh-ranked Ocean View is 11-6.

In another Uppper Deck game:

Esperanza 9, Fountain Valley 2--Esperanza scored four runs in the first inning and four in the sixth and won the seventh-place game at Esperanza. Pancho Ruiz had a double and a triple and three RBIs, and Ryan Allee went three for three with two RBIs for the Aztecs (8-8).

In the Colonial Classic in Orlando, Fla.:

Fresno Bullard 6, El Toro 5 (8 innings)--Charger pitchers Pete Robertson and John Van Houten gave up 13 walks, including three in the bottom of the eighth. After a lead-off single, Van Houten walked three consecutive batters to give Bullard the victory in a consolation-round game.

In the Las Vegas Bishop Gorman Tournament:

Tucson Sunnyside 2, Brea-Olinda 2 (6 innings, time limit)--Keith Miller went three for three, including a sixth-inning single driving in Ryan Ott with the tying run, in a first-round game at Henderson (Nev.) Basic High School. Bryan Noyes pitched a two-hitter for Brea-Olinda (10-3-1).

In nonleague baseball:

Katella 11, Los Amigos 7--Kyle Evans went three for three, scoring twice and driving in two runs for the Knights (7-8) at Boysen Park.

In the Tribute to Youth golf tournament:

Trabuco Hills wins--The Mustangs foursome compiled a four-under par 357 in the best-ball competition, which was completed at the Desert Princess Country Club in Cathedral City.

Mark Christensen, Zachary Allen, Jason Brown and Justin Grandy were the Trabuco Hills foursome. Estancia (372) was fifth, El Toro (378) was seventh and Huntington Beach (385) 10th. The tournament awarded Christensen one of four $1,000 scholarships for athletic and academic achievements.
