Price Cuts: Irvine-based Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., in an effort to compete with makers of similar computers, said this week that it would cut prices by 10% to 22% on its entire line of portable computers. “We believe that our new pricing strategy will also cause many corporate customers and individual purchasers, who have selected clones solely on price, to return to a brand-name quality product such as Toshiba,” said Michael Winkler, general manager of Toshiba America’s computer division.
