Raiders Open at Denver, Rams at Buffalo
The Raiders will be virtually a traveling team for the first month of the 1992 NFL season, playing three of their first four games on the road, according to the league schedule released Wednesday.
They will open the season at Denver on Sept. 6, play at Cincinnati on Sept. 13, return to the Coliseum for a Sept. 20 game against Cleveland, then play the Chiefs at Kansas City on Monday night, Sept. 28. The Raiders have one other Monday night game, Dec. 14 at Miami.
Meanwhile, the Rams will be away from home for two of their first four league games, all against AFC East teams.
They open the season at Buffalo on Sept. 6, before meeting New England on Sept. 13 at Anaheim Stadium. Then, the Rams have road and home games, respectively, against Miami and the New York Jets, Sept. 20 and 27. The Rams will play no Monday night games.
Ram Coach Chuck Knox will make his first trip to Buffalo as an opposing coach since he quit coaching the Bills in 1983.
The Raiders will end the regular season on Dec. 26 against the Super Bowl champion Redskins in Washington.
The Rams wind up the season at Anaheim Stadium against Atlanta on Dec. 27.
