KING CASE AFTERMATH: READERS RESPOND : Don’t Blame Simi Valley
I moved to Simi Valley from Los Angeles to get away from crime, heat, smog, weekend traffic and L.A. politics, and most of all to live with my own kind of people--not necessarily white or black. By my own people I mean hard-working, clean living, law-abiding, and in control of their community politics and environmental consciousness.
If that makes me a racist, then so be it. People have the right to choose in this country. I work six days a week averaging 10 hours a day. I pay my share of taxes and have my own set of problems. And I’m tired of being blamed along with Simi Valley for the problems of the African-American. Look somewhere else for your answers.
