Gathers Movie Needed Players
“Final Shot: The Hank Gathers Story” (KTLA, April 22) would have made a terrific made-for-TV movie, had the producers decided to make it realistic. It’s unfortunate they agreed to cast actors who did a good job acting but had limited basketball playing abilities at best. It’s true, it was a story about an admirable human being who died tragically. However, the overwhelming theme throughout Hank’s life was the game of basketball. The eight-foot rims didn’t fool anybody. I wanted to love the movie because of Hank, but I only liked it.
