BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Murphy Says He’s Not Retiring Yet

Dale Murphy ended speculation the he will retire and said he plans to return to the Philadelphia Phillies after four to six weeks of rehabilitation following arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
Murphy has a degenerative arthritic condition in the knee.
For the second time this month, outfielder Ivan Calderon of the Montreal Expos probably will go on the disabled list because of recurring pain in his left shoulder, which was operated on in 1988 and last September.
Calderon reinjured the shoulder Saturday while sliding head-first into home plate against the Atlanta Braves.
