Glendale

East Chevy Chase Drive, 1500 block--A drawer in a doctor’s office was forced open and $431.83 cash was stolen between May 18 and 19.

Central Avenue and Maple Street--A man was arrested after disrupting an animal control officer who was trying to capture a stray dog at 11:25 a.m. May 19.

Hawthorne Street, 400 block--A $5,000 Cartier watch, $5,000 in cash, and a camera, ring, phone and coins valued together at $1,345, were stolen from an apartment between 8:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. May 19.

South Everett Street, 100 block--A man was arrested for investigation of attempted rape after two women reported that he broke down their apartment door at 2:35 p.m. on May 19 and chased them with a knife.

East Acacia Avenue, 200 block--A TV, computer, printer and camera, valued together at $2,350, were stolen from a home between 3 a.m. and 11 p.m. May 19.

Acacia and Glendale avenues--Two young men were arrested for investigation of receiving stolen property at 3:42 p.m. May 20 after police found in their car about 80 compact discs for which they had no receipts.

San Fernando Road, 4100 block--Thieves removed an air conditioner from a beauty shop window to gain entry on May 20 or 21. Cosmetics and about 300 pair of jeans of undetermined value were reported missing.

North Central Avenue, 500 block--A woman was robbed at knifepoint of $75 cash by a man who was hiding in a parking lot elevator at 8:20 a.m. May 22.

Salem Street, 700 block--Two men robbed a man at knifepoint of $880 cash and his vehicle at 7:50 a.m. May 22.

West Glenoaks Boulevard, 1200 block--A fire, believed to be arson, was set behind Glendale Copier Services at 1 p.m. May 22, and about $500 damage resulted.

San Fernando Road, 4100 block--For the second time this month, Mas Mart Liquor Store was broken into, on May 22 or 23. About $450 cash and some groceries were stolen. Another burglary was reported there on May 16 or 17.

San Fernando Road, 3700 block--Two men walking on the sidewalk at 9 p.m. on May 23 were attacked, struck on the head with beer bottles and beaten by two men who had jumped out of a car. The victims were robbed of their wallets, which each contained about $30.

Broadway and Louise Street--A woman walking on the sidewalk at 4 p.m. on May 24 was robbed of her purse, which contained $23, by a man who fled in a waiting vehicle.

La Canada Flintridge

La Canada Boulevard, 4700 block--Two oil paintings of sentimental value were stolen from a home between May 17 and 19 by thieves who entered through a window.

Foothill Boulevard, 700 block--A woman who witnessed two men trying to steal a stereo from a car at 3:55 p.m. May 19 reported that she went outside her office to stop them and, as she was writing down the car’s license number, they intentionally hit her with their car as they fled. Minor injuries resulted.

Lone Pine Lane, 4500 block--A resident reported that her mailbox, valued at $410, had been stolen from her home between 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. May 23.

Echo Park

McCollum Street, 1400 block--Burglars entered a home through a front window, ransacked a bedroom, and stole jewelry and recorded music valued at $1,550 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 18.

La Crescenta

Florencita Way, 2400 block--Burglars stole 10 gold necklaces and two watches valued at $800 from a home between May 11 and 17.

Atwater Village

San Fernando Road, 3000 block--A man hid in a store until it closed, then forced an employee to open a safe at gunpoint and fled with $1,300 cash at 11:15 p.m. May 20.

Glendale Boulevard and Larga Avenue--At 2 p.m. May 22, a person reported that two men had tricked the victim into giving away jewelry valued at $2,550 in exchange for a gold bar that turned out to be fake.

Fletcher Drive and Los Angeles River--A woman reported that a man led her to a field, raped her and then brought four other men, who also each raped her at 12:30 p.m. May 23.

Glassell Park

Roseview Avenue, 3600 block--Household goods valued at $20,000 were stolen from a home between May 18 and 22.

Highland Park

Avenue 52 and Monte Vista Street--Two men robbed a person on a sidewalk at knifepoint of $120 cash at 11:30 p.m. May 21.

Roy Street, 6000 block--A stereo and video equipment valued at $900 were stolen from a home between 7:20 and 7:40 p.m. May 23, after thieves forced the front door open.

Aldama Street, 6200 block--Jewelry and cash valued together at $1,950 were stolen from a home between 7:50 a.m. and 8:55 p.m. May 24.

Los Feliz

North Commonwealth Avenue, 2500 block--Property valued at $4,000 was stolen from a home between May 13 and 19.

Los Feliz Boulevard, 3900 block--A stereo and cash valued together at $1,950 were stolen from an apartment between 1:50 and 3:30 p.m. May 19.

North Griffith Park Drive, 3000 block--Thieves broke into an apartment between 6:15 a.m. and 9 p.m. May 21, and stole cameras and video equipment valued at $1,220.

Hollywood Boulevard, 4600 block--Thieves used a cement truck to smash the front window of a beauty shop and then stole money and business machines valued together at $2,955 on May 22 or 23.

Mt. Washington

Isabel and James streets--Two women armed with a knife robbed a person of $140 cash at 6:40 p.m. May 18.

West Avenue 37, 400 block--Four men robbed a pizza delivery person at knifepoint of money and jewelry valued together at $280 at 4:15 p.m. May 21.

West Avenue 32, 3100 block--Cassette tapes valued at $3,250 were stolen from a warehouse at 12:15 a.m. May 22.

Silver Lake

Fernwood Avenue, 3000 block--Video equipment and a TV valued at $7,560 were stolen from a home between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 19.

Silver Lake Boulevard, 2200 block--Burglars entered a home through a window and stole money and jewelry valued at $21,000 between 7 and 9:30 p.m. May 20.

Hyperion Avenue, 2200 block--Thieves smashed the side window of a home, ransacked it, and fled with money and video equipment valued at $700 between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 22.
