SAN DIEGO : Car Kills Man, 71, as He Crosses Street
An elderly San Diego man was killed as he crossed Park Boulevard a few blocks from his home near Balboa Park, police said.
Dyer Ray Myerly, 71, was struck by a northbound car driven by George Herbert Brown, 77, at 11 a.m. Sunday, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Paramedics took Myerly to Mercy Hospital, where he died at 3 p.m., Robinson said.
Myerly crossed Park Boulevard in the middle of the 3600 block and was not in a crosswalk, Robinson said. Brown was not cited.
Myerly was the 10th pedestrian killed in a traffic accident in the city this year.
