SANTA CLARITA : Camp Officer Held in Molestation Case
A deputy probation officer assigned to work with juveniles at a county probation camp in Santa Clarita was arrested on suspicion of child molestation and exploitation, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.
Glenn Alan Nelson, 44, of Canyon Country was arrested Tuesday night following a 12-day investigation by the Sheriff’s Juvenile Investigations Bureau, Deputy Ron Weber said.
Nelson, a 14-year veteran of the Probation Department, was held at the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station for several hours until he was released on $100,000 bail, Weber said.
Deputies would not discuss details of the investigation or the allegations.
The arrest was made after deputies with warrants searched Nelson’s home, his place of employment--the Camp Scudder probation facility near Santa Clarita--and a home in San Bernardino, Weber said.
Nelson’s arraignment was set for July 2.
