Musical Best: A composition by Esa-Pekka Salonen, music director-designate of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has been chosen as the best work at the 39th annual International Rostrum of Composers in Paris. “Floof, Songs of a Homeostatic Homer” was selected from a worldwide field of 66 compositions.
