AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Newbury Oaks Breaks Out Lumber, 15-1
Newbury Oaks pounded 14 hits, seven for extra bases, in a 15-1 rout of Westlake-Royal (4-1) in an American Legion District 16 game Saturday at Moorpark College.
Robert Fick had three hits, including a double and a triple, and five runs batted in for Newbury Oaks (5-1). Ryan Kritscher tripled and David Lamb, Jeff Hook, Trent Martin and Tighe Curran each doubled. Lamb and Jeff Olin each had three hits and Martin had two.
Adam West (2-1) pitched six innings to earn the win.

Santa Barbara 8-1, Conejo A 3-3--Conejo’s Ryan Glass pitched a five-hitter in the second game.
DISTRICT 20
Palmdale East 2, Encino Crespi 1--Jeff Suppan struck out 20 for Encino Crespi (2-4), but Palmdale East (4-1) won at Palmdale High.
Newhall-Saugus 9, Sepulveda 3--Sepulveda’s Joe Eskenazi and Brad Fullmer hit back-to-back home runs. David Bildner of Newhall-Saugus hit a home run and Mike Hogen had a two-run double.
Agoura 9, Sunland Tujunga 5--Agoura scored seven runs in the eighth inning--all with two out. Brad Wright and Eric Kane each hit two-run singles.
Van Nuys-Notre Dame 10, San Fernando 0--Chris Garza of Van Nuys-Notre Dame (5-0) hit three singles and Glen Carson had two hits and three RBIs.
Studio City 16, Littlerock 6--Noel Toledo homered, singled, had three RBIs and five runs for Studio City. John Shellabarger added three hits and two RBIs.
Granada Hills East 10, Woodland Hills East 7--Rick Nadeau had three hits and three RBIs for Granada Hills East (3-4). Nadeau’s three-run double in the fifth triggered a five-run inning.
Reseda-Cleveland 4, Las Virgenes 1--Ruben Guerra’s two-run double in the seventh inning snapped a 1-1 tie. Jesse Yeomans pitched a five-hitter, striking out 12.
Quartz Hill 9, West Hills 2--Quartz Hill had nine stolen bases, four by Carl Grissom. Mike Krass drove in three runs and Mike Casuncad (2-0) pitched a six-hitter.
Woodland Hills West 13, North Hollywood 0--Kevin Syzanski pitched a four-hitter for Woodland Hills West (3-2).
Valley North 20, Lancaster North 3--David Stevenson had a single, double, triple and three RBIs for Valley North. Brian LaCour doubled, homered and had three RBIs.
