Driver Dies After Car Slams Into Tree
A Simi Valley man died after his car slammed into a tree on rural Somis Road, authorities said Saturday.
Terry Richard Price, 42, was pronounced dead at the site of the accident at 7:30 p.m. Friday, said Zelmira Isaac, a Ventura County deputy coroner.
Price, an executive vice president of Tasco, a Camarillo company, died of traumatic injuries to the head, Isaac said.
Price was driving north on Somis Road at high speed when he entered a sharp turn and hit the guardrail, the California Highway Patrol reported. He over-corrected his turn, lost control and spun sideways into a large tree.
The CHP said alcohol might have been a factor in the accident. Price is survived by his wife, Michelle, and three children, all of Simi Valley.
