COSTA MESA : Organization’s Chief Resigns After 1 Year
Barbara Considine, the executive director of Share Our Selves, Orange County’s largest charity, has resigned after one year on the job to pursue a graduate degree in communications.
Considine will continue to work with the organization while a search is initiated to hire a replacement, the charity’s Chairman Jack Glaser said.
“We regret Barbara’s decision to leave,” Glaser said, “but we respect her desire to change careers at this time. We appreciate the leadership and direction that she provided during an important period for the organization.”
Considine joined the charity a year ago, succeeding the organization’s founder, Jean Forbath.
“I have wanted to pursue this degree for some time and feel that it is appropriate to do so now, having overseen the completion of an important transition phase at SOS--the relocation of all of its services, concurrent with the retirement of its founder, Jean Forbath,” Considine said.
