Monrovia : Tickets for Lawn Parking
Code enforcement officers were given the power Tuesday to issue tickets to residents who park their cars on their front lawns or in unpaved side yards.
The City Council voted unanimously for the new enforcement following complaints about lawn parking, which members said affects aesthetics and property values.
Under the new policy, a vehicle parked on a front or side yard will be given a warning. If it is not moved within 24 to 48 hours, a ticket with a $15 fine will be issued.
Only one warning will be issued during a 12-month period, to target habitual offenders, said Alice S. Campos, senior code enforcement officer.
