OUTLOOK

Troy has the best skill position players in the league, led by Hartford, a bruising fullback who gained 838 yards and scored 12 touchdowns as a junior. Hartford is complemented by halfback Rob Ruzzi, who gained 519 yards and scored five touchdowns as a junior. “We have good skill on offense, but we’re rebuilding the offensive line and that’s the biggest concern at this point,” Turek said. If Troy is to contend with Sunny Hills for the league title, the Warriors will need to improve defensively. Last year, Troy allowed an average of 24.8 points per game but did qualify for the playoffs for the seventh time in the past eight seasons. Circle the date of Friday, Nov. 6, on the calendar. That’s when Troy will play host to Sunny Hills in a game that will likely will be for the Freeway League championship.
