HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Mitchell Leads Agoura to Easy Victory Over Santa Clara
Agoura High’s Scott Mitchell ran for three touchdowns and Santa Clara managed only 55 total yards as the Chargers overwhelmed the Saints, 34-0, in a Southern Section nonleague opener Saturday night at Channel Islands High.
Mitchell amassed 172 of Agoura’s 282 rushing yards and scored on runs of 52, 23 and 30 yards.
The Agoura defense forced six turnovers, including four interceptions, and limited Santa Clara to five first downs and no pass completions.
Charger quarterback Jason Warren completed five of eight passes for 42 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown pass to John Todd.
Richard Guevara rushed for 68 yards in 13 carries and scored from one yard in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
