This Is One Case of a Very Loud Tie

As a Notre Dame graduate, I am used to Notre Dame football bringing out the best and the worst in Fighting Irish fans and critics. Still, I cannot understand the amount of attention that the 17-17 tie with Michigan generated. Three of your writers devoted full stories to the subject (one pro, two con) and the longtime Notre Dame haters had a field day in the letters to the editor.

If anything was made clear by this game, it is that, despite the rankings, Notre Dame is the No. 1 subject in college football any time it takes the field.
