The Gulls made several roster changes this week, the biggest being the addition of veteran NHL center Hubie McDonough, on loan from the San Jose Sharks.
McDonough, 29, will play tonight.
San Jose worked out an agreement with the Gulls to allow several younger players to receive playing time with its IHL affiliate in Kansas City. McDonough is the 13th player with NHL experience to sign with the Gulls.
Last season, McDonough scored 11 goals and assisted on 18 others in 21 games for Capital District of the American Hockey League and had seven goals and two assists in 33 games with the New York Islanders.
The Gulls also made several cuts to pare their roster to 24: centers Brian Shantz and Rob Hartnell, left wing Dave Morrisette, defenseman Steve Smith and goalie Mike O’Hara.
