Compensation of $1,000 a week was ample for practice players, Washington Redskin General Manager Charles Casserly said in U.S. District Court in Washington.
Casserly also said the 235 players involved in a lawsuit against the league had limited talent and would have been considered for promotion to the active roster “only as a last resort.”
