A parent symposium on gangs will be sponsored by the El Monte City School District Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the El Monte Community Center, 3130 N. Tyler Ave. Topics will include how to recognize if your child is becoming involved, why kids get involved, how gangs operate and what you can do to keep your children ages 11-18 out of gangs.
