Why Copters Are There
Susan B. Winston’s opinion of why there are so many helicopters in the air over Studio City is somewhat distorted (“Helicopter Noise Tiring,” Times Valley Edition Letters, Oct. 6). They do not fly over our homes in order to take up airspace and annoy us. They are there to protect us.
There have been several robberies, innumerable shootings, car thefts, drug deals and the constant disregard for private property. I am truly grateful for the LAPD and the other services that keep watch over the city.
Winston’s attitude is unconscionable. The people in the air are overworked, underpaid and outnumbered.
Please join me in registering a large vote of thanks to the people in the various departments who put their lives on the line for the well-being of the community.
Winston should purchase a pair of earplugs to preserve her emotional health.
