PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Treanor, Blair Light Fuse for Village Christian
Village Christian quarterback David Treanor passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Crusaders to a 52-16 nonleague victory over Trona at Kennedy High.
Tarik Blair gained 90 yards in nine carries, 80 coming on a touchdown run on Village Christian’s first play from scrimmage. Teammate Jake Funk added 108 yards in 20 carries and also scored a touchdown.
The Crusaders (5-0) led at halftime, 24-0.
Treanor completed four of eight passes for 84 yards, including touchdowns of 25 and 28 yards to Mike Spielman and J.B. McLeod. On the kickoff to open the second half, Blair ran the ball back 90 yards for an apparent touchdown, but the play was called back because of a clip. Adam Martin and Eric Martin (no relation) each had a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second half for the Crusaders.
