Timberwolves Sign Laettner

Washington Redskin owner Jack Kent Cooke and Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder dropped plans to move the NFL team to Alexandria, Va. District officials and Cooke are discussing stadium plans in hopes of keeping the team in Washington.

The deal for a move to Alexandria was canceled after Cooke rejected revisions to an earlier plan to build a stadium at an abandoned railroad yard.
