Monrovia : Endorsement Withdrawn

The City Council voted Tuesday to rescind its resolution of support for candidate Frank Forbes, who is running for Division 2 director of the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District.

Mayor Robert Bartlett said another candidate for the position, David Czamanske, objected strenuously to the council’s endorsement of Forbes at a council meeting earlier this month. Bartlett said the council had never before endorsed a candidate for public office.

Czamanske, who appeared at Tuesday’s meeting, said the city did not contact him before urging support for Forbes, a former public works employee. Czamanske, a South Pasadena attorney, is a water conservationist and a member of the Sierra Club.
